North Myrtle Beach is known for its family friendly activities on Main Street.  You have the Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day parades, the Italian/Irish Festival, and the Shag Festival.  North Myrtle Beach is also the birthplace of the Shag dance, which became the official state dance of South Carolina.  There are also the weekly concerts on Main Street throughout the summer.  Free movies are held during the summer as well at McLean Park just one street over from Main.  The Big M Casino boat takes off from Little River for day and evening cruises and offers Las Vegas style gambling and dinner.  Visit North Myrtle Beach’s own Duplin Winery for a wine tasting or take the kids to the Myrtle Beach Preservation Station where you can enjoy interacting with tigers, tiger cubs and apes.

There are several dining options available to you in the North Myrtle Beach area.  From seafood and steaks to Italian and French there is sure to be a restaurant you will love.  Some of the most popular are Sea Blue Restaurant and Wine Bar that features seafood and steaks and a fabulous wine list.  21 Main located within the North Beach Plantation resort features seafood and dry-aged beef.  Flying Fish Public Market located in Barefoot Landing features southern seafood favorites, sushi and creative cocktails served in a festive environment.  Greg Norman’s Australian Grille features fresh wood grilled seafood, steaks and chicken.  The Parson’s Table located in a former church serves up steaks, prime rib and seafood.  The Sea Captain’s House is right on the ocean and is famous for its she-crab soup and weekend brunches.  Last but not least is The Brentwood Restaurant and Wine Bistro which features French cuisine and Lowcountry fare in a home built in 1910.  The Brentwood is also famous for being haunted so be sure to sign up for their Dinner and Ghost Tour.

If you love to go shopping, then you are in the right place!  This area sports two Tanger Outlet malls, one is in North Myrtle Beach and the other in Carolina Forest.  Barefoot Landing is full of great shops and restaurants and is a great place to spend the day.  Stop by the Myrtle Beach mall and be sure to spend some time at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World.

North Myrtle Beach has a great nightlife!  Some attractions that you may enjoy are the Alabama Theatre, the House of Blues, the Spanish Galleon and Duck’s Beach Club Main Street. 

If you are looking for fresh air and sunshine, try a tour of Belle Amie Vineyards or enjoy a day in the park.  There are several parks and two dog parks in the area.  Enjoy Cherry Grove Seaside Park, Ocean park, Heritage Shores Sanctuary and McLean Park.
